Introduction:
ENV 1187 is a apparatus designed based on BS EN 13501-5 and ENV 1187 for evaluating roof material performance when expose to external fire. There are four test methods to assess the performance of roofs under the following conditions:

Test 4:with two stages incorporating burning brands, wind and supplementary radiant heat.
Main Features:
- The test apparatus consists of a radiant heat source, burning brand (gas flame burner assembly), specimen trolley/cover, specimen holder, and control rack.
- The radiant heat source comprises four 300mm x 300mm square porous ceramic refractory radiant panels. The panel can be able to withstand temperatures in excess of 900°C. The surface of the radiation source can form a stable radiation source.
- The radiant panels are mounted on the steady steel frame, forming a 915mm x 915mm radiant heat source, providing a radiant heat flux of 12.5 kW/m2 during the ENV 1187 Test 4.The radiant heat panels can be adjusted either at an angle of 45° or horizontal according to the test required.
5.Each radiant panel is individual fuel supplied with propane gas and air.
6.Each radiant panel is equipped with an individual spark ignitor, which can be remotely ignition.
7.Provides four 25mm diameter Schmidt-Boelter type heat flux meters, for each radiant panel calibration at the same time, measurement range of 0 to 50 kW/m2.
8.ENV 1187 Roofing Test 4 Apparatus provides a cooling device for heat flux meter, no external water need, self-circulation, and maintain-free.
9.Provides a calibration assembly for heat flux calibration, including a calcium silicate board, 4 pre-drilled positioning holes, and a fast positioning support frame.
10.Provides a simulated town gas flame burner, orifice diameter of 9.5mm, can provide 230mm long gas flame.
11.The burner is individually fueled supplied and can adjust the flame height by the precise gas needle valve.
12.Auto-drive device for the burning brand, drives the burner moving up and down among the center of the specimen at the rate of 0.29m per 10 seconds.
13.The specimen foundation is made of stainless steel. It is installed on the carriage trolley, which can move forward or backward to the radiant heat source. The rail on the ground with position stops for fast positioning.
14.The specimen foundation can be adjusted either at an angle of 45° or horizontal which is parallel to the radiant heat source.
15.The specimen foundation has a specimen cover with an observation window on the size which is used to observe during the test.
16.The specimen foundation is well-sealed with the specimen, which can form a 15 Pa pressure difference.
17.The suction device is connected to the specimen foundation to simulate the effect of a 18.7m/s wind.
19.An inclined tube manometer is used to measure the pressure.
20.The specimen holder is stainless steel made and can be fast positioned in the sample cover.
21.The gas supply system consists of a gas pressure regulator, gas flow meters, cut-off valves for propane gas supply, and air filtering, air pressure regulator, air flow meters, cut-off valves for air supply.
22.Independent control rack, ensuring the control safety and reliability. The operations are conducted through a touch screen.
